Croutons: A practical restaurant recipe that prevents trashing leftover biscuits

The next time you find yourself struggling with leftover biscuit dough and don't want to throw it away, give this quick and delicious restaurant recipe a try:

SERVINGS: 30 servings

INGREDIENTS

NAME WEIGHT MEASURE
 
Pillsbury™ Southern Style Frozen Dough Biscuits, 2.2 oz (06252) 2 lb 8 oz 18 each
Italian seasoning, dry 1/2 oz 1/4 cup
Oil, olive 7.5 oz 1 cup

METHOD

  1. Cut biscuits into approximately 1/2- to 3/4-inch cubes, and place in large bowl.
  2. Add Italian seasoning and olive oil.
  3. Toss gently, until seasoning and oil coat cubes.
  4. Place on parchment-lined full sheet pan.
  5. Bake until crisp and lightly brown.
BAKE
Convection Oven*    250°F    40-45 minutes
Standard Oven         300°F    45-50 minutes

*Rotate pans baked in convection oven one-half turn (180°) after 20 minutes of baking.
Tip: Any leftover biscuits can be used to make croutons.
